My Story
Hi, I’m Lisa and I bring over 32 years of experience in Early Education.
For many years I have specialised in supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in my role as SENDCO in a large 'outstanding' inner city nursery school.
Along with supporting families and their children, my role has enabled me to establish a sound knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum and the SEND Code of Practice
Through my hands on experiences, I have gained a strong understanding of the difficulties and challenges that parents with SEND children face on a daily basis, as well as identifying a critical need for clear, actionable guidance for parents who are navigating local authority SEND systems while trying to support their child's development and progress at home.
My skills and knowledge have enabled me to create a collection of resources and useful insights designed to empower parents of non-verbal children and those facing communication challenges, particularly those with Autism, Developmental Language Delay, Language Disorder, Hearing Loss and Selective Mutism.
